Spurs interest in 18-year-old starlet ‘verified by an excellent source’
The Daily Mail’s Sami Mokbel has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are indeed big fans of Tyler Dibling and has provided an update about the North London club’s chances of securing the Southampton man before the window slams shut.

Over the past few days, a number of reports have claimed that Spurs are launching a major assault to try and secure Dibling‘s services before the February 3 deadline.
Some sources have claimed that the Lilywhites might sign the winger on an initial loan deal with an obligation to make it permanent for £50m in the summer.
It has even been asserted over recent days that Newcastle are concerned about Spurs’ advances towards the Southampton man. The Magpies are desperately hoping that Dibling turns down a move to Ange Postecoglou‘s side in the final days of the window so that they can sign him in the summer.
Journalist reveals what he has heard about Dibling’s future
Sami Mokbel has become the latest journalist to confirm that Tottenham are big admirers of the 18-year-old, but he has played down the North London club’s chances of getting the winger.
He explained that the Saints academy graduate is attracting interest from across the continent and is leaning towards a move abroad.
Mokbel said on the Last Word on Spurs: “In terms of Tyler Dibling, I’ve had that name verified by an excellent source. He is a player that Tottenham are certainly interested in.
“But where that situation becomes complicated for Tottenham is that they are not the only suitors for Dibling. Dibling is one of the most sought-after young footballers in Europe.
“This guy is on the radar of a number of clubs in Europe and in verifying the information about Dibling, I discovered that RB Leipzig have got a solid interest in Tyler Dibling.
“From what I’m led to believe, he can see the merit of going abroad and almost follow in the footsteps of Jude Bellingham, Jadon Sancho and Connor Gallagher. A lot more homegrown players are going to go abroad to get their opposites to play.”
Will Mathys Tel impact Tyler Dibling deal?
We have seen this movie before where Spurs make some big overtures towards a big-money signing late in the window, only to not have enough time to get the deal over the line.
If Tottenham had identified Dibling as a target a while ago, it is worth questioning why the club have left it until the final few days of the transfer window to make a concrete move for the winger.
One would also assume that Spurs want to sign either Dibling or Mathys Tel, rather than splashing out a combined £100m on both. Therefore, it could come down to which player actually wants to join the club, and whether the Lilywhites can agree a deal with Southampton.
