Many sources over the last 24 hours have claimed that despite facing competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, Tottenham are pulling out all the stops to win the race for Tel’s signature.

According to some outlets, the Lilywhites have a good relationship with the Bayern hierarchy after agreeing deals for the likes of Harry Kane and Eric Dier in the recent past.

Updates from France over recent hours have revealed that Spurs have shown ‘the most insistence’ among all Premier League clubs to land Tel. Johan Lange is reportedly currently trying to convince Tel to sign for Tottenham.

Bayern director makes admission about Tel negotiations

Max Eberl has now confirmed that Tel has informed Bayern that he wants to exit the Allianz Arena before the window slams shut on Monday.

The Bayern director revealed that a whole host of clubs have contacted the Bundesliga giants over the 19-year-old’s availability, and opened the door to either a loan or a permanent transfer in the final days of the window

Amidst interest from Spurs, Man United, Chelsea and more, Erbel said (via Fabrizio Romano): “Mathys Tel wants to leave… so we will assess all the options and decide what to do. I can understand him.”

The Bayern director then added: “Yes, Mathys Tel wants to go. Loan or permanent? We will assess all the options. I’ve rarely had so many clubs call me about a player before.”

It remains to be seen whether Spurs can convince Mathys Tel and Bayern Munich that they are the best football and financial option respectively.

Spurs have their work cut out to strike late Mathys Tel deal

It is certainly not surprising that a host of clubs are scrambling to do a late deal after hearing that Tel is on the market.

It will be challenging for Spurs to convince the youngster that he can fulfil all his ambitions at N17, given the side’s current predicament.

However, Postecoglou may be able to make the case to Mathys Tel that he will be a key part of his plans and will get an opportunity to express himself in his Spurs system.
