Ange Postecoglou confirms latest Spurs injury for Brentford, but two players return

0

Ange Postecoglou has delivered an injury update on his Spurs squad ahead of the Premier League match against Brentford.

Brentford v Tottenham in the Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur’s last game in the Europa League proved to be a success as the Lilywhites emerged victorious after securing a 3-0 win against IF Elfsborg.

On Sunday their attention is set to turn back to the Premier League, where they have failed to secure a win in their last ten league outings.

Ange Postecoglou will be without star forward Dominic Solanke, who picked up an injury in training a week ago and is still nursing a knee injury.

Earlier this week, it was also confirmed that midfielder James Maddison is expected to be out for two to three weeks after picking up a knock in the game against Hoffenheim.

Guglielmo Vicario, Cristian Romero, Wilson Odobert, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson and Destiny Udogie remain on the sidelines with their respective rehabilitation schedules as they look to return from injury.

On a positive note, Dutch centre-back Micky van de Ven and midfielder Yves Bissouma were back in action on Thursday night, the pair got a solid 45 minutes under their belt.

However, the night was not without its setback, as defender Radu Dragusin was forced off because of a knee injury shortly after replacing Micky van de Ven at half-time.

What is the Spurs injury news ahead of Brentford?

Postecoglou told Football.London when asked about Dragusin’s knee: “Still not sure, we’ll let it settle down and get more information over the weekend. He’s obviously not available for this weekend.

“In terms of others, Djed Spence should be available for the weekend, Sergio Reguilon should be ok.”

On the injury struggles, Ange added: “Every time I think I see the light at the end of the tunnel it turns out to be an oncoming train.”

Spurs will be hoping to carry their positive Europa League form into the Premier League when they face Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
