Tottenham still monitoring Lyon attacker worth £18m – They need to be quick
Tottenham Hotspur have now been offered the chance to sign one of their attacking targets for a cut-price fee, but there is no sign that the Lilywhites are prepared to greenlight a late deal.
Ange Postecoglou still waiting for his first outfield signing this month
Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is the only player that Tottenham have signed so far this month, and that deal was completed in the early days of the window.
According to reports, Ange Postecoglou is pushing the club to make two signings before the window slams shut, with the Australian wanting the club to prioritise bringing in a forward.
Some reports over recent weeks have suggested that Spurs could turn their attention to Lyon attacker Rayan Cherki, with the Ligue 1 club thought to be willing to cash in on the player.
Tottenham one of three PL clubs eyeing Rayan Cherki
CaughtOffside have now provided an updater on Cherki’s future, revealing that Spurs, Man Utd and Liverpool are all keeping their eye on the 21-year-old’s situation.
The versatile Frenchman, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or on either flank, is thought to be available for just €22m (£18.4m) in the final days of the window.
In fact, his representatives are now actively trying to find a new destination for him but Tottenham, despite showing initial interest, are now allegedly concentrating on other alternatives.
Meanwhile, Man Utd and Liverpool have both enquired about Cherki but with just a few days left in the window, it is said that neither club is likely to complete a deal before the deadline.
Offer made for Chekri who is undecided on next destination
CaughtOffside state that the Lyon man is also attracting interest around Europe, with Bayern Leverkusen and Paris Saint-Germain both keen.
But neither the German nor the French club have made any official move, with both sides preferring to wait until the summer to do a deal.
On the other hand, Atalanta are willing to offer around €20m (£16.7m) for the France Under-21 international, but the player is ‘hesitant’ to move to Bergamo and has thus put the Italian club on ‘standby’ for the moment.
Most recently, Florian Plettenberg has reported that Borussia Dortmund may make a late push to sign Cherki before the deadline.
