Will Lankshear’s loan from Spurs to West Bromwich Albion
After making six appearances and bagging his first goal for Spurs in their Europa League clash against Galatasaray, 19-year-old Will Lankshear secured a loan move during the winter window.
In the next six months, the young forward will be working hard to help his new side in the Championship, secure promotion back to the Premier League.
Since completing his loan move to the West Midlands, Lankshear has already made his debut for the Baggies. This came in their 2-1 win against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday February 8.
West Brom’s head coach reveals Will Lankshear is Premier League quality
West Brom’s boss, Tony Mowbray, has now revealed what Will Lankshear is like in training. The Baggies boss says that his new signing is Premier League quality.
Mowbray told the Express & Star, “Lankshear… I have to say he looks pretty pure in his finishing, his ball contact, the way he puts the ball in the net looks pretty clean to me. Sometimes you’d say players are a bit scruffy in the box, off their studs, or heel and goes in.
“Lankshear looks clear in his finishing, when he wants to whack it with his left foot into the bottom corner it goes in the bottom corner.”
Mowbray added: “Young Will’s quality looks Premier League quality – how sharp and snappy he is. His finishing quality is very, very clean, almost eyeball contact when it flashes across the box.”
Will Lankshear’s finishing should not surprise Spurs fans
For Lankshear to be getting such high praise from his manager after spending just seven days at the club, is very impressive.
However, his quality of finishing should not come as a shock to many, as the young forward has spent the last six months training with Tottenham Hotspur’s first-team.
He has been learning from Premier League quality finishers, the likes of Heung-min Son and Solanke. This level of finishing is expected, but credit also goes to the forward himself, he is a real talent.
