Tottenham defender finally set to return from injury against Man United
Tottenham Hotspur have been handed a major defensive injury boost ahead of their clash against Manchester United as a key defender prepares to return.
Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action
After a week off from the Premier League, Spurs are set to return to action this weekend on Sunday when they take on Manchester United.
The Lilywhites currently sit 14th, while their weekend opponent sit in 13th place. The match is set to be a pivotal one for both sides who have struggled so far this season.
In their most recent FA Cup clash on Sunday, Ange Postecoglou was without eleven first-team players because of injuries.
Destiny Udogie set to return for Spurs against Manchester United
Coming into their clash against Manchester United in the Premier League, Ange Postecoglou’s side has been handed a major injury boost as full-back Destiny Udogie is in contention to feature this weekend, according to The Sun.
The defender, who has been missing for well over a month since picking up an injury in Spurs’ 2-2 draw against Wolves, could now feature against the Red Devils.
This is good news for Postecoglou who has had to shuffle his backline in the last two months. With key players on the mend, the Spurs boss will be hoping to both improve the quality of his starting XI and give fatigued stars a much-needed rest.
Ange Postecoglou positive injury update before Man United clash
Before the Manchester United clash, the Tottenham boss already provided a positive update, stating that three to four of his injured players could make a return.
He said: “I didn’t think this week, it was the start of next week where we’re still hopeful we’ll get at least two, maybe three back for the Man United game.
“We’ve got two full weeks of training, which I think over these two weeks we’ll get the majority of the players back with a bit of luck, provided we don’t lose anyone else like we lost Richy last night.
“I knew this week was going to be a challenging week in terms of personnel, because we just weren’t going to get anyone back, so there’s no sort of disappointment that anyone missed out.”
