Combined Tottenham and Man United XI – Kevin Danso and Mathys Tel in
Spurs are set to welcome Man United to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium this weekend in the Premier League, so we have put together a combined XI from both available squads.
Combined XI: Tottenham and Man United
This combined Tottenham and Man Utd XI does not take into consideration players who are unavailable for Sunday’s game. So Lisandro Martinez and all of Tottenham’s absentees are not included.
Antonin Kinsky: Though still young and relatively new to the Premier League, Kinsky will be getting into our combined XI over Onana, and this is simply down to the errors Onana makes. This season alone, the Manchester United shot-stopper has made three errors that have led to goals, for a player with that much experience he is too inconsistent.
Diogo Dalot: We know Ruben Amorim has made a tweak to his setup and moved Dalot over to the other side, but for the sake of this combined XI, we will be going for a 4-3-3 and playing players in their best position. I do like Dalot, he is a proper full-back who can get up and down the flanks, he will be getting in over Porro for me – the Spurs full-back has looked like a shadow of himself this season.
Kevin Danso: Martinez is injured, Leny Yoro has been poor, and then there is Danso who has looked like he has been playing for Spurs for well over a year now. You can tell that he is a proper centre-back who loves to play with the ball. What a signing he has been so far.
Archie Gray: Both team’s defences have been awful this season, the Red Devils have conceded 34 goals, three fewer than Spurs, who have played a huge chunk of their season with 18-year-old Archie Gray who is naturally a midfielder. The teenager has been sensational and has grown into the centre-back role – he gets in ahead of De Ligt.
Djed Spence: Spence is another Spurs defender that will make it into our combined XI and that is simply because of how quickly he has turned his season around. Once an outcast, he is now a vital part of Ange Postecoglou’s side. Right-back, left-back or right-wing, he can play anywhere.
Manuel Ugarte: In holding midfield, Ugarte makes it into our combined XI. The Manchester United player has been impressive since Amorim took charge and you can tell that he is very vital and key to their current system. He tries to break play, start attacks and dictate the game – he is a solid player.
Bruno Fernandes: I mean Bruno Fernandes is a really good player and he has been a good performer for Manchester United since he signed. He is creative, he can drop deep and receive the ball, he can play as an eight, ten and a second striker. What a player, he will be our most advanced midfielder in this team.
Dejan Kulusevski: In midfield, you need a runner, a player that can carry the ball, press resistant and one with an eye for a pass – that player is Kulusevski. He has been Spurs’ best player this season, he walks into a lot of teams in Europe – it will be criminal not to have him in our combined XI.
Amad Diallo: Diallo has a case to be Manchester United’s player of the season this campaign. The amount of games he has won for United, the goals he has scored, he has done a job as a wing-back at times too – he has grown into his role in the team and you can tell he has matured as a player. He will be the right winger in our XI.
Mathys Tel: I know he is still new to English football, but it has taken him just two games to get his first goal. Plus, let’s not forget that he was wanted by Manchester United as well this winter. You will want to believe that if he joined the Red Devils he would get straight into their XI.
Heung-min Son: Son’s campaign has not hit the standards that he has set in previous seasons. However, the quality he possesses and the consistency he has shown in the last decade is a good reminder of just how good he is. With him in your team, you always have a chance.
