Tottenham have three-man shortlist to replace Postecoglou if needed
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly formed a three-man shortlist to replace Ange Postecoglou, with one of the names on their list thought to be very keen on the idea of managing in the Premier League.
Is Ange Postecoglou in danger of losing his Tottenham job?
Despite Tottenham’s elimination from the Carabao Cup and the FA Cup, Postecoglou does not appear in immediate danger of losing his job.
Several sources, including Fabrizio Romano, have claimed over recent days that there are no indications that Spurs are going to part ways with the Australian at the moment.
However, a fresh report has now suggested that Postecoglou is in ‘growing danger’ of being sacked, with Tottenham already looking at options to replace the 59-year-old.
Tottenham’s three-man managerial shortlist
This update comes from TEAMtalk, who claim that the Premier League clash against Manchester United at home on Sunday could prove crucial for Postecoglou‘s future.
The report says that Tottenham are eyeing former Borussia Dortmund boss Edin Terzic, Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola and Brentford’s long-serving manager Thomas Frank as the three options to take over from Postecoglou.
The outlet asserts that Terzic is ready to return to football after parting ways with Dortmund at the end of last season, with the German coach thought to be ‘very interested’ in taking a Premier League job.
While Iraola is ‘liked a lot’ by the Tottenham hierarchy, it is explained that luring the Spaniard to N17 before the end of the season will be ‘very difficult’ for the North London side.
Finally, the outlet adds that Spurs have been long-term admirers of Frank, who was considered for the role before they appointed Postecoglou back in 2023.
According to the publication, the Dane is expected to depart the Gtech Community Stadium at the end of the campaign and could emerge as a target for a few Premier League sides.
Spurs might prefer to make a change in the summer
There is no doubt that Tottenham will have a lot more quality options to choose from at the end of the season than they do right now.
That is why Daniel Levy will be desperate for Postecoglou to somehow steer the ship until the end of the campaign. The paucity of managerial candidates at the moment might be what is saving the 59-year-old from the sack right now.
