Music to Tottenham ears as Manor Solomon thrives at Leeds United
Tottenham Hotspur’s Manor Solomon has been on loan at Championship side Leeds United for well over six months and, despite a rocky start, he is now finding his feet.
A loan spell filled with challenges for Manor Solomon
During the summer window, Tottenham Hotspur sent Manor Solomon out on loan to Championship side Leeds United.
Since joining the Whites, the Israeli international’s loan spell has been filled with challenges, as injuries during the early stage of his loan, prevented him from getting consistent game time.
A few weeks ago, when Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou was asked if a recall could be on the cards for the Spurs loanee Manor Solomon, the manager’s answer was simple yet straightforward, “NO.”
Solomon update: Goals and assists galore this season
With the winter window shut and the manager’s stance made clear, Solomon is set to spend the remainder of the season at Leeds United.
Despite his rocky start, where he missed four games because of a Hamstring problem, the Spurs loanee has since found his feet and is now getting consistent game time.
Just recently, the 25-year-old grabbed another assist in Leeds’ 2-0 victory at Coventry in the Championship on Wednesday evening. He was also involved from the bench as they exited the FA Cup at Elland Road against Millwall on Saturday.
After his substitute performance in the FA Cup, the Leeds United player was handed a match rating of seven in Leeds Live’s player ratings, with the review: “Was the liveliest of the initial trip that came on and cause Millwall to think more. In fact, was the most exciting winger all day for Leeds.”
His goal involvement tally for the season now stands at 15, with seven goals and eight assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.
Competition | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
---|---|---|---|
Championship | 25 | 7 | 7 |
FA Cup | 2 | 0 | 1 |
Tottenham future? What next for Manor Solomon?
Solomon is set to return to Tottenham once his loan spell at Leeds United ends. However, the forward’s future remains uncertain, with Ange Postecoglou expected to decide whether he stays to strengthen the squad or is sold permanently.
Spurs signed the 25-year-old Israel international on a free transfer, offering him a five-year contract. By July, he will have three years remaining on his deal.
Should Tottenham choose to sell, they are likely to make a profit, having paid no transfer fee for his services. The 25-year-old Israel international currently holds a market value of £9 million, according to Transfermarkt. You would think that Spurs could sell him for double that in the summer though.
