Tottenham Hotspur fans decide what comes next for Jamie Donley

Tottenham Hotspur’s loanee Jamie Donley continues to impress at Leyton Orient and with the season nearing its end, Spurs fans have had a say on the youngsters’ future.

Jamie Donley’s loan spell at Leyton Orient has been nothing but impressive as the midfielder continues to score goals week after week.

His goal contributions for the season have now reached double figures, with the Tottenham loanee scoring six and providing six assists in 34 games.

Tottenham Hotspur fans want a new challenge for Jamie Donley

As the youngster continues to impress on loan, talks about plans for his future next season continue to linger. Should he go on another loan or stay with Tottenham? We took to social media to ask Spurs fans, and their response was unanimous.

One fan whattheblazes said: “He should either go to the championship on loan or come back to the squad IF we are in Europe, if not then a loan as we won’t have enough games for him.”

Another fan Ruan Treeve suggested a rather creative solution, he said: “High-level champ or low-level prem loan for the first half of the season then reassess. Could well be useful for us but if we have no Europe might not get the game time. 2026/27 he has to be part of our squad”

Nick simply wants him to make the jump from League One to the big leagues, he stated: “Send him out again to a top-flight league that plays possession football. I think he would get a lot of game time in the Bundesliga or LA Liga (Rayo Vallecano).”

RUN DTW does not mind the 20-year-old returning to Leyton Orient, he tweeted: “If the Os get promoted I would consider loaning him back for another season.

“He should at least be playing Championship level, if not prem. Would love to integrate him into the 1st team at Spurs, but if he’s not likely to play often he would be much better off playing week in week out on loan.”

Is a return to the Premier League on the cards for Jamie Donley?

While several fans would love him to be loaned out to the Championship, mid-table Premier League sides, or top-flight leagues outside the Premier League, one fan, Joe MC, thinks that he could make the jump from League One straight into the Tottenham squad just like Dele Alli.

He said: “Have a good preseason with the 1st team then probably a decent Championship loan depending on where he is in his development. Dele came straight from League 1 and looked mustard so it can happen.”

While we continue to give our thoughts about his future, Jamie Donley has revealed his focus for the rest of the season.

He said in a recent interview, “Ange spoke to me and said when I come back to make sure I am a better player… that is obviously my goal and however I get there or however long it takes me, I’ll keep going. If that is another loan next year or see how I do in pre-season, but I want to play for Tottenham.”
