Tottenham player ratings vs Bournemouth – 7/10 midfielder a game-changer off the bench

0

The full-time whistle has sounded in North London to conclude Premier League action between Tottenham and Bournemouth this afternoon, meaning it’s time for our player ratings.

Over the duration of the match, we analysed each player’s individual performance, rating them on a scale of 1-10. Let’s see how they got on.

Tottenham player ratings vs Bournemouth

Guglielmo Vicario: Vicario made numerous vital saves to keep Spurs in the game, particularly in the opening five minutes of the match. He was Spurs’ saviour today, despite the two goals conceded. 7.

Pedro Porro: Porro was dangerous at times in the first half as he crossed balls into the box and got in behind the opposition defence several times, but it was his lazy pass that led to Bournemouth’s opener. He left an abundance of space for Kerkez to drive into, and you know what happened next. 4.

Cristian Romero: Romero nearly gifted the Cherries the lead in the opening minute but Vicario bailed him out with a great save. Cuti eventually settled into the game after a really shaky start but was substituted for Van de Ven at the hour mark. 4.

Kevin Danso: Danso had one or two shaky moments throughout the match but he was reliable when we needed him to be. 5.

Djed Spence: Spence was one of Spurs’ brightest sparks this afternoon, as usual, as he defended decently and showed real flair and tenacity to drive forward and escape from tight spaces. 7.

Rodrigo Bentancur: Bentancur was beyond awful today. Just when you think he can’t put in a worse performance than his last, he proves you wrong. Lazy, sluggish, lost. Those are just a few words to describe him out there today, and they’re some of the kinder ones. 1.

Yves Bissouma: Bissouma, likewise. Just dreadful. He was average in possession, only the rare drive forward showing any real intent to do anything with the ball. Shocking. 1.5.

Pape Sarr: Sarr was pretty average for much of the afternoon, missing one big chance, dragging a shot well wide, before minutes later deciding to just whack it from distance, the ball somehow finding the net with help from the post. It was a great goal that came from nowhere. 6.

Brennan Johnson: Brennan was really poor and ineffective in the first half, being shut out constantly by Huisen and Kerkez. He’s too easy to defend with his one-dimensional style. 2.5.

Dominic Solanke: Solanke played okay today but his hold-up play was average and he didn’t have any real opportunities. He’ll take time to adjust back into playing football, but he just didn’t take the ball well enough in his stride today. 4.

Wilson Odobert: Odobert started sharply on the left flank but grew wasteful and ineffective in the first half. He shifted flanks in the second period and got his spark back, but he didn’t create anything real today. 6.

Substitutes:

Lucas Bergvall: Bergvall added some much-needed dynamism to the Spurs midfield three in the second half, patrolling the centre like it was his property. He owned the midfield in the second half and bounced back from Thursday’s setback. 7.

Son Heung-Min: Son was introduced at the halfway mark and nearly made an instant impact, as his trademark curling shot clipped the outside of the post. He coolly converted a spot-kick to draw Spurs back on level terms too. 6.5.

James Maddison: Maddison wasn’t effective enough when he came on to create anything clear-cut. 4.

Micky van de Ven: It was great to see Micky get some much-needed minutes today ahead of an important tie in midweek. He didn’t do anything that stood out today, however. 5.

Destiny Udogie: Udogie replaced Porro. N/A.
