Sevilla identify Tottenham Hotspur outcast as ‘ideal’ summer target
Sevilla have identified one Tottenham Hotspur defender as their ‘ideal’ target for the summer, with a new report explaining that a number of factors combine to make him the top choice for the La Liga side.
It remains to be seen if Spurs undertake a major revamp of their squad this summer or if they take a more gradual approach to rebuilding, but either way, it looks highly likely that a few senior players will be leaving Tottenham this summer.
Among those is Sergio Reguilon, whose current deal at the North London club runs out in June, with the defender thus currently able to sign a pre-contract agreement with a non-English club.
It has now emerged that one Spanish club are determined to be at the front of the queue to land the left-back on a free transfer in the summer.

A report in Vamos Mi Sevilla FC says that the Spurs left-back has been identified as the ‘ideal candidate’ by Sevilla.
The 28-year-old spent the 2019-20 season on loan at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium, and the club are now extremely keen to take him back.
The report points out that signing a left-back is one of the Andalusian club’s priorities this summer, and Reguion’s name is ‘on the top’ of sporting director Víctor Orta’s wishlist.
The outlet adds that Sevilla have ‘already started working on’ options for the role, with the Tottenham Hotspur man being one of the prime candidates.
Why Sevilla have their heart set on Reguilon
The report explains that the fact that Reguilon has already spent a year at Seville and knows the club makes him an attractive target for Garcia Pimienta’s men.
Additionally, it is pointed out that the club are not in great shape financially, which is why Reguilon’s free agency makes him the obvious top candidate.
It appears that an offer from Sevilla is inevitable for the Spurs left-back, but it remains to be seen whether the idea of going back to his old stomping ground appeals to the Spain international.
