Tottenham are confident Tyler Dibling wants to sign after recent talks

0

Tottenham Hotspur believe they have gained the upper hand in the race to sign Southampton youngster Tyler Dibling. After holding discussions with the player, the north London club are increasingly confident he sees his future at Spurs.

Tottenham have been tracking the Southampton midfielder for some time, with Spurs’ interest in Tyler Dibling dating back to the winter transfer window.

Despite their efforts, no deal was reached at the time, and he remained at St Mary’s. However, with the Saints facing likely relegation, Tyler Dibling’s future has become a major talking point once again.

The Lilywhites have been proactive in their pursuit, keeping close tabs on the situation. Their persistence appears to have paid off, with growing optimism that a deal can now be struck after talks with Dibling.

Tottenham push for a deal for Tyler Dibling as Southampton set asking price

According to GIVEMESPORT, Dibling is expected to depart Southampton, with the club slapping a £50 million price tag on their prized youngster.

Spurs, however, are confident they can negotiate a lower fee, aiming to finalise a deal in the region of £30-35 million.

GIVEMESPORT’s senior correspondent Ben Jacobs provided further insight into the situation. He has revealed that Tottenham have made contact with Dibling and his camp and that there is a belief that the youngster is sold on the project.

He said, “Spurs have already made contact with Dibling’s camp and believe he is sold on the project, while there is also confidence that Ange Postecoglou is the right manager to further develop his game.”

Ange Postecoglou’s youth policy a key factor in Dibling’s decision

It is clear why Dibling is said to be drawn to Tottenham. Postecoglou has shown a willingness to trust young players, particularly in a season plagued by injuries.

Lucas Bergvall, at just 18, has been integrated into the midfield setup, while Mikey Moore, 17, has also been given opportunities.

Of course, Archie Gray was named Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards, after playing a significantly high amount of games in his first season at Tottenham.

That same belief in youth development could be a crucial factor in Dibling’s decision. The Exeter-born midfielder may also see a move to Spurs as a chance to establish himself at a higher level.
