Tottenham show ‘most interest’ in David Hancko but there is one problem
Tottenham Hotspur are one of two clubs who have reportedly shown the most serious interest in signing an Eredivisie star, but the player is thought to be leaning towards a move to a Serie A club instead.
Tottenham strengthened their backline with the addition of Kevin Danso in January, but the Lilywhites might need to address their defence again in the summer as Ben Davies is out of contract this June.
A new report has now claimed that Spurs have set their sights on a Slovak international, who has emerged as one of the best defenders in the Dutch top-flight over the last few years and looks to be on the verge of a big transfer.
Tottenham and Chelsea both want David Hancko
According to TEAMtalk, Feyenoord star David Hancko has now emerged as a target for Tottenham, who are keeping tabs on the centre-back’s situation.
The versatile defender, who can also operate as a left-back, is also said to be on Chelsea’s radar, with the two London clubs having ‘stepped up their interest’ over recent weeks.
It is explained that both clubs explored a move for Hancko ahead of the January window and are the ones who are ‘showing the most interest’ in the player as things stand.
However, Atletico Madrid and Juventus are also ready to offer competition for the 27-year-old, with the La Liga club thought to have made contact with the defender over recent days.
Feyenoord and Hancko’s stances revealed
TEAMtalk go on to explain that Feyenoord are willing to let the Slovak international leave, but they will ask for ‘at least €50m’ (£42m) for his services this summer.
The report reveals that Hancko has not made any final decision on his future but he is ‘enticed’ by the prospect of joining Juventus.
The publication asserts that the Bianconeri have also spoken with the centre-back’s agents about a contract worth €5m (£4.2m), which they hope is enough to convince him to come to Turin.
