Tottenham ready to test water with early Antoine Semenyo bid
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly aware that they are facing competition from several of their rivals for Antoine Semenyo, and the Lilywhites are already plotting to press ahead with an offer for the Bournemouth star when the transfer window reopens in June.
It has been reported by the British press for several months that Spurs have a keen interest in landing Antoine Semenyo, having been impressed by his performances for Bournemouth over the last two seasons.
However, we have heard over recent weeks that Tottenham are expected to face a lot of competition for Semenyo, with several of their Premier League rivals also tracking the 25-year-old.
Now a fresh report has offered an update on Spurs’ plans to secure the Ghana international’s signature ahead of their rivals this summer.
Tottenham ready to submit offer for Antoine Semenyo
CaughtOffside have now claimed that Spurs have identified the Cherries attacker as their ‘top target’ for the summer as Ange Postecoglou looks to rejig his attack ahead of next season.
The report says that the Lilywhites see Semenyo as an option to replace Richarlison, who is expected to depart the club at the end of the season.
In fact, it is revealed that Tottenham are ready to test the waters with a bid of around €40m (£33.6m) for the attacker when the transfer window opens in the summer.
The outlet does not say if such an offer would be enough to price the player away from the Vitality Stadium at the end of the season.
Five other big clubs are eyeing Semenyo
CaughtOffside go on to explain that the Bournemouth man is also on the radars of Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea, Newcastle and Napoli ahead of the summer.
While there is expected to be a major battle for Semenyo’s services in the summer, as things stand, Spurs have shown the ‘strongest interest’ in the player.
The publication adds that the winger is keen to leave the South Coast to pursue a new challenge in the summer as he wants to test himself at a higher level.
