Benjamin Cremaschi may find it ‘hard to turn down’ a Tottenham move
A second source has credited Tottenham Hotspur with an interest in young USA international Benjamin Cremaschi, and an interesting revelation has been made about the player’s transfer desire ahead of the summer.
Over the last couple of years, Tottenham’s transfer policy has revolved around identifying and securing the best young raw talent in the world and helping them develop into finished products.
The Lilywhites have had a bit of success with that approach, which is why they look set to continue with the policy, with a report earlier this week revealing the Premier League side is looking at a young American midfielder, who is making waves in the MLS.
It was claimed that Tottenham are closely watching Inter Miami starlet Benjamin Cremaschi, and a new source has now confirmed the same and has provided more information on the transfer pursuit.
Is a summer move to Tottenham on the cards for Benjamin Cremaschi?
Cremaschi has emerged as one of the most consistent midfielders in the MLS during the last two years, with the versatile 20-year-old impressing in a number of midfield roles.
TEAMtalk have now become the latest outlet to report that Spurs admire the youngster and are now ‘weighing up an approach’ for him ahead of the summer window.
The report reveals, however, that the USA international has also captured the attention of many of Europe’s biggest sides, thus raising the possibility of a bidding war for his services.
The publication adds that while Cremaschi is happy at Inter Miami, he would find it hard to turn down a move to the Premier League if Tottenham came knocking in the summer.
Lionel Messi is already a big fan of Cremaschi
Tottenham’s new midfield target comes with the endorsement of the greatest player in modern footballing history.
This is according to MLS expert Matt Doyle, who explained that Lionel Messi ‘loves’ playing alongside Cremaschi at Inter Miami.
Doyle said on MLS’s Extratime podcast: “You can see Cremaschi is making all the little connective-tissue plays around the box that makes you go ‘oh yeah, this is what Tata is seeing, this is what Messi’s seeing’. Messi apparently loves the kid.”
