Video: Harry Redknapp says only one Tottenham star would make it into his 2010 team
Harry Redknapp was asked to pick a joint eleven between the Tottenham side he managed and the club’s current squad, and only one current Spurs player made it into the side.
Spurs had an extremely talented squad through Redknapp’s three and a half years at the helm, with several world-class players in the club’s starting lineup.
Redknapp had the likes of Gareth Bale, Rafael Van der Vaart, Luka Modric and Ledley King at his disposal, and played a daring, front-foot style of football, not too dissimilar to the style we see under Ange Postecoglou.
The Lilywhites qualified for the Champions League for the first time in their history under the Englishman in 2010 and proceeded to make it all the way until the quarterfinal in their first taste of the competition.
Harry Redknapp only wants Cristian Romero from current Tottenham crop
Having had the success he did at White Hart Lane, it is only natural that Redknapp would prefer many of his own players to the current Tottenham squad in the joint eleven.
However, the 78-year-old surprised everyone when asked to compare players across each position, picking just one player from the current squad in his side.
Redknapp felt that only Cristian Romero is good enough to start for the Lilywhites side he managed, in place of Michael Dawson. However, he even changed his mind on that front by the end!

Jermain Defoe agrees with Harry Redknapp’s assessment
This update comes just a few days after Jermain Defoe made a similarly controversial call while comparing the Tottenham side he played in to the current team.
Defoe even picked Aaron Lennon ahead of Heung-min Son in his combined eleven, with Micky van de Ven being the only current Spurs player who made it into the 42-year-old’s side.
