Supercomputer predicts Tottenham’s final Premier League points tally

0

Tottenham’s Premier League season has been one to forget, and with just a handful of games left, a supercomputer has crunched the numbers to predict exactly how many points Spurs will finish the campaign with.

Tottenham Hotspur’s Premier League campaign has been nothing short of disappointing. The Lilywhites, in Ange Postecoglou’s second season at the helm, find themselves languishing in 14th place, with their league ambitions all but dead.

After 29 games, Spurs have suffered 15 defeats and managed just ten wins, leaving their season in tatters.

With fewer than ten matches remaining, an AI-powered Supercomputer has attempted to forecast the final points tally for Tottenham.

Opta AI predicts Tottenham’s final points total

According to Opta AI, Spurs, who currently sit on 34 points, are expected to pick up an additional 12 points from a possible 27 in their remaining nine fixtures, bringing their points total to 46 after 38 games.

At the very least, Tottenham are predicted to win four of their final nine games before the curtain falls on the Premier League season.

Of course, with an international break in the mix, Spurs will return to Premier League action on 3rd April, where they will take on London rivals Chelsea in what promises to be a crunch fixture.

Europa League is now Spurs’ main focus

Realistically, Spurs’ Premier League campaign was sealed the moment they fell to their 15th defeat of the season at the hands of Fulham.

The focus now is firmly on the Europa League, where Tottenham are set to face Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-finals.

However, if the Supercomputers are to be believed, Spurs aren’t expected to go all the way in that competition.

Opta’s AI has Tottenham as the third most likely team to lift the Europa League trophy, but another algorithm suggests Spurs will crash out in the quarter-finals of the Europa League at the hands of Frankfurt.

It remains to be seen whether Spurs can defy the data and salvage something from an otherwise dismal season.
