Watch: Wilson Odobert embarrasses Man City star with two assists for France U21
Wilson Odobert shone for the France Under-21 side as they thumped England at home, with the Tottenham man having plenty of joy on the flank against a Manchester City defender.
It was a heavyweight affair at Stade du Moustoir, the home of FC Lorient, where a star-studded young Lions side took on a France side littered with world-class talent across the pitch.
It was the home side who came out on top as a Hugo Ekitike hattrick saw them emerge 5-3 winners on the night.
Ekitike had one Tottenham Hotspur star to thank for his hattrick, with Odobert laying two of the striker’s three goals on a plate for him with some brilliant wing play.
Tottenham’s Wilson Odobert has Rico Lewis on toast
Odobert has been extremely impressive for Tottenham since returning from his injury lay-off, and the 20-year-old carried on from where he left off for France’s Under-21s on Friday.
The Spurs man created the first goal with extremely impressive wide play on the right, going one way, then the other, and tying Rico Lewis in knots before producing a perfectly low cross for Ekitike to tap home his second and France’s third.
Odobert made a decisive impact again on 55 minutes, showing good pace to run onto a through ball on the left flank before hitting a perfect low cross with his left foot, which once again found Ekitike unmarked in the box to tap home.

Two other Spurs players were involved in the game
Wilson Odobert played 80 minutes before being replaced by Lens Andy Diouf, and the Tottenham man would be delighted with another excellent night’s work.
However, he was not the only Spurs player involved in the game, with Mathys Tel replacing hattrick hero Ekitike on 66 minutes.
For England, Archie Gray also got a little cameo as a centre-back after coming on for Burley’s CJ Egan-Riley on 78 minutes.
