‘Terror attack’ in Surrey as Met Police say Stanwell stabbing ‘inspired by Far Right’
A STABBING in Stanwell, Surrey, on Saturday evening has now been declared a terrorist incident.
Surrey Police received a call at 10.30pm last night about an incident close to Heathrow Airport where a man had been seen acting aggressively and shouting racist comments.
A further call was received by Surrey Police at around the same time saying that a man had been stabbed.
It is believed that the suspect is the same man who was reported as acting aggressively.
Assistant Commissioner, Neil Basu, the head of Counter Terrorism Policing, said “it has hallmarks of a terror event, inspired by the far right, and therefore it has been declared a terrorism incident”.
A 50-year-old man was arrested on Saturday evening.
