A NON-LEAGUE footballer says his life has “gone mad” after a video of his Gazza-style wonder volley went viral.
Bromsgrove Sporting star Jason Cowley became an internet sensation when the clip of his goal against Corby Town was posted online last weekend.
Cowley removes asbestos for a living, but has become footballing royalty following his heroics in his side’s 2-1 win.
Striker Cowley’s 29th goal of the season helped keep Sporting top of Southern League Division One Central.
And though 1,576 hardy souls were there to see it in person, it has been viewed more than 400,000 times on the BBC Sport website.
Not bad for a forward in the eighth tier of English football.
Cowley told the BBC: “My phone hasn’t stopped all weekend with people messaging me and asking for interviews.
“It’s been mad. It’s been non-stop really. I need to speak to someone and charge 10p a view!”
His skill is just like Paul Gascoigne’s moment of magic against Scotland in Euro 96.
Cowley beats two flummoxed defenders by flicking the ball over his head before finishing it first-time into the bottom corner.
But he admitted he has no idea how he was able to pull it off.

Cowley added: “It was a great goal and I don’t really know how it came about.
“I just gambled on a flick-on and as soon as it came over my head from my flick I knew there was only one place it was going.
“Normally I do that but I’m nowhere near the goal but this time I was in the middle of the goal so I followed it and hit it.”
