ANT is one half of the most famous TV duo and has had a well-documented battle with substances.
And now it’s being turned into a documentary set to air on Channel 5. Here’s what we know so far…
Who else appears in Channel 5’s documentary on Ant McPartlin’s drug battle
Celebrities including Peter Andre will discuss Ant’s “year from hell” in a new Channel 5 show.
The popstar told readers of his New! magazine column: “I can’t give too much away because I don’t know what will make the final cut,
“But it’s basically about the pressures of the industry and the trials and tribulations facing Ant following his drink-driving arrest and rehab stint.”
What do we know about the documentary so far?
Ant, 43, had a stint in rehab last year after he crashed his car while over the limit.
The TV favourite got a 20-month driving ban and took a step back from the spotlight so that he could work on his drink and drug addictions.
A spokeswoman for the documentary told the Daily Star: “This film offers insight on how Ant’s world collapsed around him and how it feels to have your personal problems played out in front of the nation.”
The C5 spokeswoman added: “With Ant’s comeback due to officially go public with the next series of Britain’s Got Talent, the documentary hears from celebrities with similar experiences in the media spotlight and asks if Ant can successfully complete his recovery, reclaim and keep his place in one of the most successful TV partnerships of all time.”

What has Ant said about his drug battle?
In January 2019, Ant opened up about his substance abuse battle to The Sun’s Dan Wootton in an exclusive.
The presenter revealed: “Life hit me hard. I was going through a lot of personal stuff that was very publicised. The problem is you take something or you drink to escape from an underlying unhappiness.”
He admitted: “I was still drinking in a dependent state. Not all the time. But enough to worry about it. I hadn’t addressed it. It was building up which led to the day of the crash which was the single worst day of my life.”
After his release, Ant sought serious medical help to speed up his recovery. He said: “I was so traumatised after the crash, I was in a really bad way. I was still under medical care. With hindsight, I wasn’t in a good place for a while. I hadn’t properly been assessed. That came very quickly post-crash. I volunteered to go into a proper institution where I was technically assessed. I gained so much. I know I was dependent on alcohol and I don’t drink now.”
