How did Stacey Fowler kill Archie Mitchell in EastEnders?
STACEY Fowler killed villain Archie Mitchell after he raped her in EastEnders? But how did she do it? And did she get away with it?
Let’s remind ourselves, shall we?
How did Stacey Fowler kill Archie Mitchell?
Archie Mitchell was found dead in the Queen Vic pub over Christmas back in 2009. He’d been bludgeoned to death with the bust of Queen Victoria which takes pride of place on the bar.
‘Who Killed Archie?’ was a major storyline in EastEnders up until February 2010 when it was finally revealed that Stacey Fowler – then Branning – had murdered Archie because he’d raped her.
Along with Stacey, the other suspects included Ronnie Mitchell, Jack Branning, Janine Butcher, Peggy Mitchell, Bradley Branning, Max Branning, Ryan Malloy, Phil Mitchell and Billy Mitchell.
Archie had a lot of enemies.
Stacey eventually confessed to Max that she’d killed Archie after her husband – and Max’s son – Bradley Branning died falling from the roof of the Queen Vic as he tried to escape police.
Max kept the secret and Bradley was held responsible for the murder.

Did Stacey Fowler get away with murdering Archie?
Not really. Lauren Branning got a recording of Stacey confessing to the killing which then ended up in the hands of Stacey’s enemy Janine.
Janine then stabbed herself and framed Stacey, before calling the police. Helped by Max, Stacey managed to leave Walford and go on the run with her baby Lily.
Eventually Stacey returned to the Square and handed herself in to the police. She was jailed but her mum Jean appealed her sentence due to Stacey’s bipolar and she was released.
