• Six-year-olds have the best record
• Seven finished in first three last time
• Look for horses with at least two hurdles wins

SIX-YEAR-OLD horses with a run within the past month are worth concentrating on for this contest.

That is a negative for Champ, Downtown Getaway, Emitom, Go Another One, Kingsplace and The Captains Inn.

We can add Lisnagar Oscar to the cross outs because he was outside the first three last time out, which is a negative.

Champagne Well has yet to win over hurdles, while Trevelyn’s Corn and Walk Away have just one win each and are ruled out.

That has narrowed the field to three — Ardlethen, Arthur Mac and Dallas Des Pictons.

DALLAS DES PICTONS has much the strongest form of that trio and was a good second in the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival last time.
