THERE’S a competitive little field in the Betway Top Novice Hurdle, won last year by Lalor.

We’ve put together all the important info to help you find the winner of the valuable contest.

1. Aramon – Willie Mullins/Ruby Walsh (4-1)

Looked a star in the making when winning a Grade 1 in style over Christmas and has since pushed Supreme victor Klassical Dream mighty close at Leopardstown.

Couldn’t repeat that form at Cheltenham but has every chance in this slightly easier race, particularly as jockey Ruby Walsh is in the saddle this time.

2. Felix Desjy – Gordon Elliott/Jack Kennedy (6-1)

Travelled very well into the Supreme but didn’t quite get home in the softened ground and it could be a similar story here.

They probably won’t go as fast as they did there, though, and if getting home he could have a say.

3. Itchy Feet – Olly Murphy/Gavin Sheehan (11-4)

Looked pretty exposed before a massive effort in third behind Klassical Dream in the Supreme.

That’s the best form in this race by some way and if he repeats it (similar conditions) then he is definitely the one to beat.

4. Precious Cargo – Nicky Henderson/Nico de Boinville (4-1)

Won his last two starts in the style of an improver, though this is a big step up.

Trainer knows what it takes to win this, though, and he shouldn’t be underestimated.

5. Rouge Vif – Harry Whittington/Daryl Jacob (9-1)

Something of an unknown quantity as the three races he’s won so far over hurdles have been against much weaker opposition.

Clearly needs to step up now, though further progress is distinctly possible.

6. Sofia’s Rock – Dan Skelton/Harry Skelton (11-1)

Looked nothing particularly special over hurdles before destroying his opposition at Ludlow last time, running out a 15-length winner.

He made a visual impact that day and could outrun his odds.

7. Southfield Stone – Paul Nicholls/Harry Cobden (11-2)

Beat an exciting prospect at Kempton last time and did it in commanding style.

Needs a bit more but missed Cheltenham and comes here a fresh horse for his top connections.

8. Winston C – Harry Fry/Sean Bowen (11-1)

Won his last three over hurdles, last time coming with a late rattle to land a valuable handicap at Kelso.

A mark of 142 is a bit low to for him to be considered a winning contender but he could have more to come.
