CORONATION Street fans “cried with happiness” as Sinead Tinker rung the hospital bell to celebrate she’s cancer free after her gruelling treatment.
The emotional scenes aired in tonight’s second episode showed the young mum return home after battling cervical cancer.
She kept her illness secret for months after fears she would lose her baby.
But she managed to have chemotherapy and radiotherapy after having an emergency c-section and giving birth to baby Bertie early. She has since finished her final round of treatment, which is called Brachytherpy.
As she left the hospital, Sinead read out a touching message before ringing the bell to mark the moment her treatment ended.
She said: “I ring this bell for all to hear, how strong I’ve been despite the fear. I thank those for their support along the way, My treatment’s over, now cancer – please stay away.”
Relieved fans said: “Sinead ringing that bell made me cry with happiness #corrie.”
One added: “Don’t that made me cry Sinead #Corrie @itvcorrie.”
Someone else said: “I am crying at Sinead ringing that bell #Corrie @KatiexMcGlynn.”
But other viewers weren’t as impressed by the moment as they suggested the storyline was “unrealistic”.
One said: “The Sinead storyline on #corrie is a joke. Not realistic and poorly acted.”

Another added: “Someone needs to get Sinead to see a scientist…broken neck a couple of years ago….likely paralysed for life, recovered!….advanced stage cancer, likely to die, especially as she didn’t have treatment for 8 month….survived….come on #Corrie far fetched even by soap laws.”
Fans had feared Sinead would be killed off after she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cervical cancer last Autumn.
Speaking after she arrived home with her boyfriend and baby, Sinead tonight said: “It’s only just sinking in i don;t have to go back there an dhave things poked in me. Well, for now anyway.
“Now, no more cancer or hospital talk.”
