Horror injuries of girlfriend beaten with iron bar and forced to eat PAINT by cruel footballer as he’s jailed over brutal three-day attack
A WOMAN has told how her cruel footballer boyfriend beat her with an iron bar, rubbed glass into her back and forced her to eat paint during a brutal three-day attack.
Reece Thompson carried out a horrific campaign of abuse and humiliation against his helpless partner – who was left with devastating bruises, cuts and a broken jaw.
Her face and bum were left blackened after the spate of violent assaults, which took place last September.
The woman, who did not wish to be named, said thug Thompson smashed her over the head with two mirrors.
And he threatened to force her to run naked down the street.
Thompson pleaded guilty to GBH, ABH and damaging property when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on April 3.
THUG JAILED
The yob, 25, was jailed for three years and four months – and was handed a 10-year restraining order.
Thompson has played for non-League sides York City, Boston United and Guiseley AFC.
The victim lived in fear of Thompson and worried he was going to kill her when he grabbed a mirror to smash her over the head.
She told the Lincolnshire Echo: “Reece repeatedly hit me.
He told me to get my arms down and take the beating like a real person

“He hit me with an iron bar, broke my jaw and smashed a mirror over my head.
“I was made to lick paint up off the floor and then he smashed another mirror over my head.
“It was when he picked up the second mirror that I thought I was going to die – I screamed for him to stop or he would kill me.
“He told me to get my arms down and take the beating like a real person.”

Thompson began his career at Lincoln City before a series of transfers led him to play for Guiseley AFC in the Vanarama National League North.
He has not played for Guiseley since the time of his arrest in September – when he was living in Bircotes, Notts.
A spokesman at the club has said: “The club will be making a comment in due course.”
