ANTHONY JOSHUA is desperate to unify the heavyweight division by beating Deontay Wilder so he can set up an undisputed showdown with Oleksandr Usyk.
Joshua, 29, just needs Wilder’s WBC belt to reign as the undisputed heavyweight world champion – though setting up the showdown has so far proved impossible.
The WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight champ told Sky Sports he plans on beating Wilder, 33, to set up an “unbelievable” showdown with ex-cruiserweight king Usyk .
But before the Watford ace can plan the undisputed championship showdown with heavyweight new boy Usyk, he must first beat Jarrell Miller in June and then secure the elusive Wilder fight.
Joshua said: “I think it will be class if I can fight Wilder for the undisputed title and then I could fight Usyk.
“Because then that would be the undisputed heavyweight champion versus the undisputed cruiserweight champion at heavyweight. That would be unbelievable.
“I’ve done the [Joseph] Parker fight, I fought for that [WBO] title, I’ve fought (Alexander) Povetkin, now I’ve got to do Miller and I just need to get past this one.
“If I don’t get Wilder, what am I doing it for? If I don’t get my hands on the WBC belt, what am I doing it for? I really want that chance and that opportunity.”
After negotiations once again failed between AJ’s camp and The Bronze Bomber’s, the Brit champion was left to look elsewhere.
That brought him to American loudmouth Miller, 30, with Joshua making his Stateside debut on June 1 at New York’s famous Madison Square Garden.
Miller has done his best to drag out a heated build up, with AJ uncharacteristically trading verbal jabs with his opponent, but Joshua warns he will “punish” the Brooklyn brawler.

Joshua added: “I’m going to be 100 per cent for this fight, not 99, not 90, because the camp’s gone well and we’ve learnt from previous ones I should be going in at a good pace.
“It’s not just about Jarrell Miller, it’s about perfecting my craft as well, work on position of hands, fluidity, perfect weight and at the end of it, I get to punish Miller as well June 1st.
“I said I’m going to reconstruct his face so I’m looking forward to seeing how his face looks at the end of the fight.”
