Beverley Turner sent Meghan Markle a copy of her home birth book and suggests she inspired her labour plan by describing the experience as ‘orgasmic’
EARLIER today, Kensington Palace confirmed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry will not be immediately announcing the birth of their baby – and it’s led royal fans to believe Meghan could be having a home birth.
Now, presenter Beverley Turner – who has had two home births – has suggested she might have inspired the Duchess, after she sent her a copy of her book, The Happy Birth Book.

Writing for The Times, Beverley – who revealed the details of her first home birth and even described it as “orgasmic” – explained she sent Meghan a copy after finding out she was expecting.
“When I heard she was pregnant, I sent the Duchess of Sussex a copy of The Happy Birth Book, which I wrote to accompany my antenatal classes, the Happy Birth Club,” she said.
“Who knows, perhaps she was inspired.
“I would love her to be able to give birth supported by a husband she adores, surrounded by women she trusts, away from the press, in the rural surrounds of Berkshire.”

Explaining why she chose a home birth, Beverley – who has recently separated from James Cracknell – wrote: “My decision was purely because at this — my second — birth I couldn’t be a***d to leave the house.
“Going anywhere when you’re in discomfort is a hassle and only makes the pain worse.
“I don’t want to pick the kids up from school if I’ve got period pains, so with a trusted midwife I figured my body could labour at home.

“… We had a CD shuffler playing songs from our wedding and, smacked off my t**s on Entinox, I had melted into a uniquely trippy bliss — as close to an orgasmic birth as I can imagine.
“Nevertheless, it was everything birth should be: calm, private and uniquely life-changing.”

Kensington Palace announced today that the royal couple, who are expected to welcome their first child together this month, have made the “personal decision” to avoid the public eye.
In a statement the palace said: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very grateful for the goodwill they have received from people throughout the United Kingdom and around the world as they prepare to welcome their baby.
“Their Royal Highnesses have taken a personal decision to keep the plans around the arrival of their baby private.
“The Duke and Duchess look forward to sharing the exciting news with everyone once they have had an opportunity to celebrate privately as a new family.”
