LORIS KARIUS started trending on Twitter seconds after David De Gea’s horror howler against Barcelona.
The Liverpool stopper, on loan at Besiktas, made two outrageous blunders to gift Real Madrid the Champions League crown last May.
Karius allowed Karim Benzema to poke the ball from his hands before he let long-range Gareth Bale effort slip through his fingers in the 3-1 loss.
And tonight, De Gea – a Real Madrid transfer target this summer – succumbed to a similar fate.
With United already trailing 1-0, he allowed a tame, right-footed Lionel Messi shot to squirm through his arms and into the net to all-but kill-off the tie.
Now Twitter reckons De Gea has scuppered his summer move to Real following the epic blunder.
DAVID DE STAYER?
One fan wrote: “Are you watching Real Madrid? Don’t sign De Gea.”
Another claimed: “Guess De Gea won’t be going to Real Madrid anytime soon.”
A third added: “Real Madrid will be crossing De Gea off their summer shopping list now. Clever work from united this.”
Here’s how Twitter reacted to the horror blunder…
Meanwhile, De Gea’s horror howler comes just a day after United’s goalkeeping coach Emilio Alvarez revealed the Spaniard had been doing “super special preparation” for Messi.
Alvarez claimed: “We do some things different. I wouldn’t lie if I said we do a super special preparation.
“I already worked in La Liga for many seasons with David [De Gea] as well and before with other keepers.

“I can’t deny that there is a particularity regarding Leo [Messi] in which in the end, you try to offer tools and data to the keeper so that it can help him.
“But we all know that no matter how much you study Leo, or if you have the tools and those are good, talent is always above anything else.
“I do work that is more specific with De Gea which I obviously can’t reveal, but we do some things different and we include other things than with respect to another game as we are facing Leo.”
