ONE woman’s fiance has been accused of going “barking mad” after proposing with a paw-shaped ring.
The bride-to-be has taken to social media to reveal she was devastated when her fiance proposed with a paw-shaped diamond ring and has even “forced” him to have it melted down.
“I love my future husband but I forced him to melt this down and turn it into not-a-dog paw,” she wrote on Facebook.
“Who in their right mind would want to walk around with a dog paw on their hand?!
“Don’t get me wrong, I love my dog – our fur baby makes us act like ‘those people’.
“But I draw the line at dog-themed jewellery I’m expected to wear every day of my life.”

Set on a silver band, the ring appears to be solitaire, with four extra diamonds dotted around the edge to resemble a dog’s paw.
And fellow users were horrified at the design, with many agreeing the woman was right to admit she didn’t like it.
One wrote: “Like you said, this is a ring you have to wear every day for the rest of your life. It needs to be something you like.”
While another said: “It’s a cute ring, but definitely not for an engagement ring.”
One user went as far as to say it was hideous, while another said she would “ask for a divorce” if her husband had given her a paw ring.
“I am one of those legitimate psychos that spends all their free time at dog shows and if my husband gave me this I would divorce him.”
Others, however, were less sympathetic, with one criticising the bride-to-be for shaming her fiance.
“I’m shaming you for shaming him when he tried to make something niche and specific to your relationship,” they said.
“It’s not a super obvious paw print so I’d wear that with pride.”
Another agreed, commenting: “The only person worth shaming is you for being ungrateful.
“Your fella put a lot of thought in to your ring clearly.”
One jeweller even weighed in on the debate, constructively suggesting the bride-to-be doesn’t have to have it melted down to alter the design.
“Speaking as a jeweller, let me just say it didn’t need to be melted down,” they explained.
“Those small stones can be taken off and the centre stone can be repositioned.”
Would you wear this style?
