Line Of Duty viewers spot big Hastings dubbing blunder as police chief gets number of cops ‘killed by Corbett’ wrong
LINE Of Duty fans spotted a huge dubbing blunder in last night’s episode of the show, with actor Adrian Dunbar seemingly saying the wrong thing while sharing a scene with Vicky McClure.
Instead of getting the pair to reshoot the scene, it appears that BBC bosses decided they’d just dub over the mistake – but it turned out to be glaringly obvious to viewers back home.
Halfway through last night’s jam-packed episode, Dunbar’s character Hastings was speaking with McClure’s DI Fleming.
Discussing the number of cops’ deaths Corbett was responsible for, Hastings snapped: “Look, the guy is responsible for killing five police officers.”
However, fans at home are adamant that Dunbar actually said “four” in the scene, and the word “five” was dubbed over.
One eagle-eyed viewer tweeted: “He definitely said ‘four’ and they dubbed over it to make him say ‘five’ rather than reshoot the whole scene.”
Another added: “Hastings mouths ‘responsible for killing four police officers’ but is dubbed saying ‘five’… That’s my BBC conspiracy for the day.”
A third said: “Anyone notice the overdub on #LineOfDuty tonight? Hastings mouth clearly said Corbett had killed four officers but dubbed to say five!”

Viewers were left shocked last night when John Corbett, played by Stephen Graham, was killed off in the final moments of the episode.
The undercover cop had been a focal point of the latest season of the police drama, and had his throat slit in a shock twist when he tried to leave the organisation of criminals that he was running.
Line of Duty follows the work of police anti-corruption unit AC-12, run by a shadowy figure who goes by the code name H.
Earlier in last night’s episode, viewers were convinced that they had proof Superintendent Ted Hastings is H after he misspelled ‘definitely’ – just like the corrupt OCG cop.
