A VEGAN mum-of-two held an anti-meat protest in Sainsbury’s – before being told by a pensioner to “go home and look after your kids”.
Claire Folan, 34, used a megaphone to tell customers at the store in Canterbury, Kent, that shops are “selling violence”.
Five other protesters joined her inside the supermarket and the group played videos of animals being killed.
Claire said: “We are animal rights activists and we will keep on showing up in places that sell violence.
“I am a mother. I have two 18-month-old children.
“If they were born lambs they would already have been killed.”
But she was met by an angry elderly woman who told her to “go home and look after your children”.

Cops were called shortly after 1.30pm on Saturday and Claire left the store after officers diffused the situation.
Claire, a veterinary nurse from Thanet, has staged similar protests in the past, and defended her “Easter protest”.
She told Kent Live: “All of our celebrations – birthdays, Easter, Christmas – always have dead animal bodies at the centre and that was the catalyst to disrupt this place that sells that violence which was Sainsbury’s.
“I’m involved in quite a lot of different activism, this is such an urgent issue that it requires all of us to make a change to our lives and that simply starts with the food on our plates.

A Sainsbury’s spokesperson said: “We can confirm an incident took place at our Canterbury supermarket on Saturday.
“We apologised to customers for any inconvenience it may have caused and are grateful to the police, who helped to resolve the situation peacefully.”
