ARSENE WENGER has taken a thinly-veiled swipe at Tottenham for losing 12 games this season.
The Frenchman has also showed he still has Arsenal in his heart, wishing his former club to finish the season in the Premier League’s top four.
Wenger is yet to take up a job in football management after parting ways with the Gunners last year.
But he continues his punditry work, appearing on BeIN Sports on Sunday to give his take on the hectic ending to the Premier League season.
And the Frenchman showed he still has a soft spot for Arsenal, having a sly dig at their bitter-rivals Tottenham before wishing the Gunners to secure Champions League qualification.
Wenger was astonished that Spurs, who have lost 12 times this season, are all but certain to finish in the top four.
He said: “It’s amazing because a team like Tottenham who basically are sure now to be in the Champions League, they’ve lost 12 games.
“Looks like Tottenham will be in the first three, and I wish Arsenal are fourth, I’m sorry.”
His wish might not be granted, though, as Unai Emery’s men suffered a massive blow in their top four pursuit today, losing 3-0 at Leicester.
The Gunners are now fifth, two points behind Chelsea with two games left to be played.
Arsenal, however, can still claim the Europa League trophy as they are taking on Valencia in the semi-finals this week.

A triumph in the competition would secure Emery’s side a spot in the next edition of the Champions League.
Meanwhile, Wenger has been contacted by Lyon over a general manager position at the Ligue 1 club.
And he could sensationally team up with his old arch-enemy Jose Mourinho, who is wanted by the French outfit as head coach from next season.
