NatWest online banking and app down leaving customers locked out of accounts
ONLINE banking services for Natwest and RBS customers crashed this morning, locking hundreds out of their accounts.
People are complaining on social media that they are unable to log in, check their balance or transfer money.
The website and app appears to have crashed for customers all over England, according to website tracker Down Detector.
Some people manage to load the landing page, before the website and app crashes again.
RBS customers say issues are now fixed for them, but Natwest’s website is still going down for some.
The website’s status page says its services are all working correctly.
But some people still cannot access their accounts.
When The Sun tried to log in just after 8.30am, the website went down.
The issues began at about 7am, with 280 reports of problems at the height of the issues, according to Down Detector.
The website was updated with a new design over the weekend but it’s not known if the problems with online banking services are linked.
More than 7.5million people have personal bank accounts with Natwest.
The Sun has asked RBS, which owns Natwest, when the issues will be fixed and we will update this article if we hear back.
