It is his FOURTH major blunder since March 10 which have all led to goals after misjudging Granit Xhaka’s long-ranger, allowing Lionel Messi’s effort to squirm in and being beaten by Leroy Sane at his near post.
Some fans have called for De Gea – or the “Spanish Karius” – to be dropped with Sergio Romero or Lee Grant battling to be given a chance between the sticks.
And Manchester United boss Solskjaer admitted he wants to chat things through with his No1 – but insisted this is no different to when De Gea is in form.
He said: “David knows he could have done better with the goal, there is no reason hiding it.
“David has been unbelievable for this club. We do support each other. There is no chance that anyone can blame him for losing points. He knows he could have had that shot but that is football.
“I will have chats with him and he will respond in the right way.
“David is going through a period where he could have done better.
“But I don’t have any worries about him, he’s a strong character.”
Solskjaer denied De Gea believes he cannot be axed, with Romero and Grant lying in wait.

Sky Sports pundit and former United defender Gary Neville said: “De Gea is having a nightmare. He needs the summer. It’s so difficult for him at the moment.
“He’s been pulling his team out for the past few years, a one-man defence.”
