VEGAN protesters who stormed a Greggs in pig masks were mocked by customers who called them ‘uneducated’.
Members of Direct Action Everywhere, a group of animal activists , who previously marched into a steak restaurant, went into the bakery holding signs saying “‘humane’ murder is a lie”.
The group who targeted the Greggs on London Road in Brighton also carried a sign which “it’s not food it’s violence” on Sunday.
But one elderley woman sat outside the cafe and blasted the group saying “they’re uneducated.”
She said: “My daughter studied environmental law and I have done a bit of my own research.
“These people don’t really know what they’re talking about.
“I wouldn’t be here if we hadn’t done some of the tests we have done.
“They need to do a lot more research on the environment before they start acting like this.”
The group then marched down the street shouting messages through a megaphone.
A spokesman said: “We are demanding the abolition of humans using animals, we are fighting to end the horrific oppression animals face in this speciesist world.”
