Will Sheridan Smith star in the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special?
She won hearts across the world with her part as Ruth ‘Rudi’ Smith in Gavin and Stacey but Sheridan is going to be missing from the upcoming Christmas special.
James Corden, who began a two-year relationship with Sheridan in 2007 when they first worked on the show, revealed plans for a Christmas special in May.
But Sheridan was not included in the line-up of stars in the publicity shot.
The actress admitted she wanted to return as Rudi — sister of show co-creator Corden’s character Smithy — but had not heard anything.

Asked by Radio 2 host Zoe Ball yesterday if she was appearing in the one-off, she said: “I wish.
“No, I’m not going to be in it. I don’t think, anyway.”
Speaking to The Sun ,she added: “Like everyone, I can’t wait to watch the Christmas Special.
“I’m so proud to be have been a part of something so special.”
What is Sheridan up to now?
In 2019, Sheridan was confirmed to be playing the narrator in the summer production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the London Palladium.
The play runs from June, 27 to September, 8 and see her star alongside Jac Yarrow and Jason Donovan.
Sheridan also lent her voice to animated film, The Queen’s Corgi.

A representative for Sheridan told another publication, “She has not married Jamie Horn, although they are engaged to be married, they haven’t yet set the date.”

Speaking to the Express about what happened, she said: “I kind of lost it a bit after he died. In public it looks like I’ve moaned about everything with my dad dying, but that’s not the case. I just had a massive meltdown.”
However, she reassured fans she’s now in a much better place, adding: “I’ve come out the other side now and I need to get it all out through my music.”
