Ex-Arsenal hero Sanchez will try to console himself with annual earnings of £24m if United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer boots him out this summer.
And Ozil is just four places adrift of his former club-mate, scooping £23.7m as the world’s 57th highest-paid sportsperson.
Chilean Sanchez’s wages or £22.25m ecliipse Ozil’s record Arsenal package of £18.6m.
But the German dramatically narrowed the gap between them with endorsement earnings of £5.1m compared to £2m for Sanchez.
Pound-for pound, some might think the duo offer the worst value for money in the Premier League.
Yet their pay is well above “pound-for pound” boxing greats Pacquiao and Golovkin, who are 92nd and 95th respectively on around £20m.
The mega-contracts of Sanchez and Ozil might explain why Barcelona target Griezmann could also consider joining United.
Nonetheless, Griezmann, 28, still amassed £21.8m for 75th place, including £18.2m in yearly wages.
And Bale, 29, another frontman linked with Old Trafford, is four places below his La Liga rival on £21.3m.
Two of the USA’s most legendary competitors of 21st century sport are also below Sanchez and Ozil.
Tennis queen Williams, 37, who has won 23 Grand Slams, is 63rd on £23m.
And five-time Super Bowl winner Brady, 41, is 81st with £21.2m.
