Jess Glynne gets lifetime ban from Isle of Wight Festival after cancelling set ten minutes before she was due onstage
JESS Glynne has been handed a lifetime ban from performing at the Isle of Wight Festival again, after she cancelled her show last minute over the weekend.
The festival’s organiser John Giddings has insisted the 29-year-old singer will “never” be invited to take to the stage again after she let down fans within minutes of her set.
Speaking to The Mirror, he said: “She will never be booked to play the Isle of Wight again.
“It shows no regards for people that bought a ticket.
“It’s so sad that an artist would do that to their fans. She’s let them down.”
Jess was due to headline the annual festival at Seaclose Park on Sunday evening, hours after taking to the stage at Spice Girls World Tour in London as the girl band’s support act.
Isle of Wight Festival revealed Jess cancelled her show out of “exhaustion”, after she was seen out partying until 7am with the Spice Girls following their final show.
They tweeted: “Unfortunately Jess Glynne was unable to perform today due to exhaustion.”
But the star has insisted she pulled out because of her battle with “anxiety”.
Taking to Instagram to explain herself and apologise to festival goers, she wrote: “I am a human being and I can’t help that my body sometimes gives up on me. I am so so gutted, sorry and upset that I couldn’t perform yesterday.”
She claimed she had no intention of dropping out because she had made her way to the site.
She added: “I came all the way I got ready and was about to head to stage but I just couldn’t do it. I was incredibly weak and full of anxiety.
“The last thing I ever want to do is let people down, I am sorry to anyone who I upset it was not my intention. I had to do what was right for my physical and mental health.”
The Sun Online has contacted Jess and John’s representatives for comment.

Jess has revealed she is taking some much needed time out to get better.
Her post concluded: “I’m now taking this week off to get myself better and to step away from the madness. To all my fans I love you and thank you and will always make sure I’m at my best for you!”
However, this is not the first time Jess has cancelled a concert, as in 2015 she dropped out of Isle of Wight Festival, and back in May she opted out of Radio 1’s Big Weekend as she lost her voice.
