COMEDIAN Jimmy Carr faced an angry backlash after he made a joke about dwarves during his latest stand up tour, Terribly Funny.
Little People UK, a charity co-founded by Warwick Davis, complained to the Eight Out Of Ten Cats host after audience members approached them about the jibe.
In a statement, the charity said: “We appreciate comedy is a matter of personal opinion, but in 2019 people with dwarfism should not have to live with the consequences of being the subject of someone else’s humour.
“Such comments are incredibly detrimental to their wellbeing. To potentially hear someone repeat such a comment can affect them for their entire life.”
One audience member, Erik Bourne, told The Daily Mirror: “Channel 4 should sack him. Only then will other comedians realise we’re not just here to be made fun of.”
The Sun has contacted Jimmy’s representatives for comment.
The furore comes just months after Jimmy came under fire for a joke for a trailer from his Comedy Central show Roast Battle.
The show sees comedians try to offend each other amusingly.
In the clip aired before the watershed in September, Jimmy, 46, asked Tom if he was Jewish.
When he answered he was not, the star replied: “Someone needs to tell your face.”

Tom, 30, who is of Jewish heritage, laughed and covered his nose in response.
The joke was not complained about in the programme but was for it featuring in a trailer, and the channel apologies unreservedly.
