Emmerdale spoilers: Billy Fletcher and gangster Max come face to face leaving a villager fighting for their lives
IT all kicks off in Emmerdale tonight when gangster Max holds Jessie, April and Marlon Dingle hostage at Tall Trees cottage.
The thug is furious after Billy Fletcher grassed him to the police about a van robbery he had planned.
Billy was double-crossing his former fellow inmate, hoping that by cooperating with the police he’d get Max out of his life for good.
But Billy was left furious last night when the police told him they couldn’t guarantee Max wouldn’t find out it was Billy who snitched.
And after Max’s heist went horribly wrong and he found out it was Billy’s fault – he swore he would get revenge on him.
As Jessie, April and Marlon all arrive home, they’re unaware that Max is already in the house until he comes at them, waving a gun in their faces.
He then instructs a terrified Jessie to call Billy, which she does. But the phone goes through to voicemail, leaving Max even more crazed.
When Billy finally picks up the message, he rushes home – with his half-brother Ellis Chapman hot on his heels.
Billy and Max finally come face to face at Tall Trees and the men get into a fight, which causes the gun to go off.
As the gunshot rings out around the village, one character is left fighting for their life – but who is it?
Max and Billy have a chequered history which has already seen Max try to recruit Billy for more crimes, despite the personal trainer vowing to turn his life around.
When Billy failed to turn up for a different robbery Max had arranged, the gangster was furious and confronted Billy, saying he’d cost him money and he wanted repaying.
He left Billy chilled when he threatened his family before almost running over mum, Jessie.
Max also scared Billy when he stalked Ellis and sent him photos of Ellis in a club where he was enjoying a night out.

When Ellis was stabbed later that night, Max became the prime suspect, but had a watertight alibi, leaving Billy frustrated. Max hasn’t stopped terrorising Billy since he was released from prison earlier this year.
Billy was jailed for three years after falling in with the wrong crowd, to his mum’s despair.
On a drunken night out he was involved in an attack on a random man who they viciously beat up and left for dead.
