GLASTONBURY Festival has agreed to show England Women’s World Cup quarter-final after Georgia Stanway’s public plea for her brother to be able to watch.
The Manchester City star, 20, is the youngest member of the Lionesses squad and is in line to earn her 12th cap in Thursday night’s match against Norway.
The forward took to Twitter to call on Glastonbury’s organisers to have the game on display so her older sibling John-Paul wouldn’t miss out.
She posted: “Hi @GlastoFest I’ve got a favour to ask. My brother is there on Thursday, can you screen our quarterfinal game, please? #Lionesses.”
Festival organisers, who expect about 200,000 campers at the event at Worthy Farm in Somerset, have now announced plans to show the fixture on the West Holts stage.
Stanway, who has made three appearances for Phil Neville’s side at the tournament so far, was quick to share her thanks to the announcement.
INTO THE LION’S DEN
Glastonbury previously showed England Men’s World Cup round-of-sixteen fixture against Germany in 2010, which the Three Lions lost 4-1.
If the Lionesses beat Norway in Le Havre then Stanway and co will play the winner of Friday’s France vs US game in the semi-finals on July 2.
The PFA Women’s Young Player of the Year was an unused substitute in last Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Cameroon in the last 16.
Boss Neville will hope there will be no repeat of the antics against his side in the quarters after they were elbowed, spat at and stamped on.

Steph Houghton, Ellen White and Alex Greenwood all netted to secure the victory but the former Everton star was left raging after the game.
He admitted: “I was completely and utterly ashamed of the behaviour of the opposition.
“If that was my players they would never play for England again.
