In an exclusive interview, Kirstie has for the first time told how she quit social media after her young sons saw the abusive comments aimed at her.
She said: “I didn’t want them to see that and that’s why I shut down the account. I usually get zero abuse on Twitter — there are controversies and people give their opinion — but it was the first time I’d been abused.”
Kirstie told Channel 5’s The Jeremy Vine Show last year that she smashed her children’s iPads after they broke her screen time rules on popular game Fortnite.
But some people took great exception.

She said: “A lot of the gamers went nuts.
“I think they felt that someone was trying to cut their willy off or something.”
Kirstie is now back on Twitter and launching a new craft show on Channel 4.
Celebrity Craft Masters, which starts on Monday at 5pm, will see celebrities including comedian Susan Calman tackle Kirstie’s challenges.
The TV star, 47, said her kids Oscar Hercules and Bay Atlas left her with no choice other than to destroy the iPad after they continually ignored her[/caption]
The presenter said: “I want the Love Island viewers to be interested in craft. If they watch the show once and never again but go and do a craft, then that’s the nut I’ve cracked.”
A little crafternoon delight would be one way to pass the time in the villa.

Flack seat driving with Keith
LOVE Island host Caroline Flack’s romantic encounters have been more of a talking point than those of the Islanders.
Now she has addressed some of her old relationships, and why she’s known as a cougar, on Shopping With Keith Lemon.
Quizzed on the ITV2 show, showing tomorrow at 10pm, Caroline said: “You can keep them private, but I think when you get carried away in the moment . . . say, for instance, in my last relationship I put myself and my fiancé on Instagram, I can’t really moan about people talking about it. There’s a slight regret I did that.
“I try not to think about it. I could date someone that’s 20, someone that’s 104 but I’d just rather date someone nice.”
She was a bit more coy when the funnyman asked her about specifics, merely shrugging her shoulders at the mention of ex-flame Harry Styles – who is 17 years her junior.
And when asked about Prince Harry, she replied: “I’m not allowed to say. Can’t remember.”
She added: “I do like someone with a good sense of humour, someone who doesn’t take life too seriously and someone that’s just nice.”
Keith Lemon it is then.
BAD MAX IN HOLBY
HOLBY City is getting a new character – and no-nonsense neurosurgeon Max McGerry looks set to shake things up throughout the hospital.
The fiery female consultant will be played by Jo Martin, inset, who has featured in several BBC dramas including Fleabag, Back To Life and Silent Witness.
Holby City show boss Simon Harper said: “Max is a brilliant, multi-faceted character – wry, funny, passionately driven, and with no patience what- soever for political correctness or snowflakes.”
An Atack attack — by mum
IT’S a good job Emily Atack has a thick skin – as her comedian mum Kate Robbins has joked on TV that her daughter is a “slag”.
It happened in the first episode of Emily’s new show Adulting, on pay TV channel W, when the I’m A Celeb runner-up opened up about her fears over infertility.

The actress said: “I worry about that, because I have had a very active sex life now for a long time. Sorry.”
At that point her mum responded: “Slag! I’m joking.”
Later Emily, who has been linked to Seann Walsh, Dougie Poynter and James Buckley before falling for video and TV producer boyfriend Rob Jowers, also came clean about rumours she lost her knickers in a sex romp after the Brit Awards, adding: “So f***ing what?”
I admire her honesty.

Celeb Dares a winner
AFTER viewing figures for Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins For Stand Up To Cancer peaked at 1.7million, C4 plans to roll out an entire series of the all-star version.
Fortunately, celebs are falling over themselves to sign up to the selection process with Ant Middleton, which involves gruelling tasks, terrifying interrogations and physical challenges.
A telly source said: “Channel 4 were really pleased with the reception the celeb charity version got, and now producers have got big budgets in place for a whole series.
“They are keen to attract massive names to take part . . . they really want to avoid it being saturated with the usual reality names.”
Last week, I told how TV bosses are looking at a format where Ant, above, takes solo celebs into the wild, like adventurer Bear Grylls does.
I’d rather the safety in numbers, personally . . .
