Coronation Street’s David Platt could snap at any moment and become a murderer says Jack P Shepherd
CORONATION Street’s David Platt could snap at any time and become a murderer actor Jack P Shepherd has said.
The hairdresser was jailed for two months tonight for his brother’s crime in stealing their grandmother Audrey’s cash while Nick walked free, and he should be walking scared with David having the potential to become another cobbles killer.
Jack has teased David is only a moment away from murdering someone[/caption]
Jack said: “That’s the beauty of it with the Platts they can all switch and go a bit psycho one minute then vulnerable and emotional and funny.
“It works each way for all the characters.”
David had previously tried to murder his brother Nick when he discovered he had slept with his wife Kylie.
And after Kylie was murdered David tried to murder her killer Clayton Hibbs by crashing into him with a car full of petrol and burning him alive.
But now happily in a relationship with Clayton’s mum Shona, David has been dealt another blow with the prison sentence preventing him and Shona from tying the knot as planned with David remaining in prison for the full sentence.
“No, [the wedding’s] gone,” he said.
“It was meant to have been August and he’ll still be in prison then.”
And the couple will be apart for even longer as David’s prison sentence comes shortly before actress Julia Goulding’s maternity leave means Shona will be leaving the cobbles temporarily.

But when the pair are eventually reunited, Jack wants a huge Corrie wedding to celebrate the couple that have been through so much – but he’s aware he probably won’t get what he wants.
He said: “I would like a massive one but know probably won’t get it because they haven’t go any money for one thing now given barbers to gran they are strapped for cash.
“I imagine it will be a registrar down town hall or in the bistro.”
