Selma Blair reveals her bald head as she undergoes a radical treatment for MS
SELMA Blair has revealed her bald head as she undergoes a radical treatment to treat her multiple sclerosis.
The Cruel Intentions actress, 47, was diagnosed with the disease in August last year.
Taking to Instagram today, Selma shared a snap of her newly shaven head as she gave fans an update on her battle with the disease.
She wrote alongside the picture of her smiling while leaning against her walking bike: “Today is a banner day. I am being discharged from the care of an incredible team of nurses and techs and a visionary Dr. who believes in my healing as much as I do.
“This has been a process. And will continue to be one. I am immunocompromised for next three months at least. So no kisses please.
“I wanted to make sure any complications that might arise here were my private space. And we got through brilliantly.

“And I am excited to share this journey when I am ready. For now, I have recovery. And a great @the_alinker_world so I gotta split. Bye!!!!!! This is the best gift I could give to Arthur. #newimmunesystem #whodis?”
Earlier in the day, Selma shared a picture of her son Arthur cutting off her hair as she wished him a happy birthday.

The actress explained how she wouldn’t be able to spend the day with him as she was having the final bout of her treatment.
Selma first alluded to hair loss and shaving her head last month, posting and then deleting a photo of Arthur with a razor.
While multiple sclerosis does not cause hair loss, it is a common side effect of many treatments for MS.

MS is an incurable, life-long neurological condition where the immune system attacks the body and causes nerve damage to the brain and spinal cord.
In an interview with People this week, Selma explained how her symptoms came on hard and fast after she was diagnosed.
As well as having palsy in her face, which affects her ability to control her facial muscles, she also has a condition called spasmodic dysphonia, which makes her voice tremble.
Selma added it was “constant weakness and fatigue” and she has had to start using a walking stick and walking bike in the last year.
