FORMER X Factor star Danny Tetley has been arrested for soliciting sexual images of a child through a social media platform.
The singer voluntarily turned himself in to police in Bradford after they called his mum’s house trying to track him down – and was then arrested for the serious sex offence.
Since the arrest earlier this summer, he’s been bailed three times as police look into the case. He confirmed he’d been forced to turn his phone over to officers as part of the investigation.
West Yorkshire police confirmed to The Sun Online that “proceedings are active”.
Danny, 37, insists he’s not guilty and claims he’s been “set up”.
“Someone is trying to set me up,” Danny told The Sun Online in Benidorm, where he has been doing twice-nightly shows since July 1.
“This kind of thing has gone on for ages because people don’t like to see me do well.
“I’ve never handled the fame very well. I haven’t worked this hard just for me to be slaughtered.”
Danny, who also starred in Benidorm, impressed judges, including his mentor Ayda Field, when he appeared on series 15 of the talent show in 2018.
But since leaving the show – he came sixth – he’s been hit by a series of scandals.
Earlier this year, The Sun Online revealed a disturbing video of the singer boasting about doing “a world record”-sized line of cocaine on video.

Snorting the white powder and pointing at the camera he said he was “treating” himself after working hard.
He later admitted it was a mistake, telling The Sun Online: “I am not going to try to attempt to defend this video, it is something I am not proud of. I take full responsibility for my actions and I would encourage anybody battling their demons to seek professional help.”
He previously admitted to drink and drugs problems while working in Benidorm before The X Factor – and revealed to the Sun On Sunday how he and his father both came out as gay to each other on the same night.
