MOHAMED ELNENY is close to ending his Arsenal exile with a move to Turkey.
The midfielder has been frozen out by manager Unai Emery having failed to make the matchday squad for any game this season.
And having been told to find another club by Emery last week, the Egypt star is now on the verge of joining Besiktas.
Elneny, 27, has always struggled to establish himself as a regular starter ever since he arrived at the club in 2016.
But since Emery took over from Arsene Wenger 12 months ago he has found it even harder to get a look-in.
The former Basel star made only eight Premier League appearances for the Gunners last season as Emery quickly decided he was not of the standard needed.
Even in the cup competitions when the Gunners boss made several changes, Elneny was restricted to just a single appearance in each of the domestic competitions.

Now he is close to finalising terms to spend the season in Turkey having realised he had no chance of regular football if he stayed in North London.
If Elneny does complete the move, Arsenal will then still be hoping to shift Shkodran Mustafi from their payroll as the look to trim the number of fringe players.
Mustafi has also been told he can leave, and his agent has admitted he is looking to seal a deal before the transfer window closes on September 2.
