A BABY girl was airlifted to hospital after being bitten on the head by her grandfather’s dog.
The girl was mauled by a Staffordshire Bull Terrier at a house in the Welsh village of Mynydd Isa on Saturday afternoon.

She was flown to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool, where she is currently receiving treatment.
Speaking to NorthWalesLive, the girl’s grandfather said: “The baby was playing in the back room when she banged her finger and screamed.
“The dog then bit her on the head.
“She is going for a scan today.
“She has been playing with toys at the hospital and had a Kit Kat for breakfast and she is going to need care over quite a bit of time.”
He confirmed that the dog, Duke, would be put down.
“I have signed the dog over,” he said.
“It is going to be destroyed.”
He also thanked the emergency services for their response.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “North Wales Police and the Air Ambulance were called to a property at Mynydd Isa around 4.45pm (Saturday the 31 August) following an incident involving a dog attack.

“Police are carrying out house to house enquiries in the area.”
A Welsh Ambulance Service (WAS) spokeswoman said: “We were called at 4.30pm and a casualty was airlifted to Alder Hey Hospital.”
