A MASSIVE police hunt has been launched for a toddler allegedly snatched by an Uber driver and then sold to another woman for £8,000.
Sharena Islam Nancy, 25, of Pittsburgh, has been charged with kidnapping and concealment of a child following the disappearance of one-year-old Nalani Johnson.
The accused has reportedly told cops the child’s father told her to deliver the child to another woman because he had “sold” his daughter, according to the authorities.
However, the child’s grandmother has denied the father had any involvement in the shocking kidnapping.
Allegheny County police said the dad told his officers he and a friend were riding in a car driven by Nancy on Saturday evening.
When he got out of the car and was moving to get the child out of her car seat he claims Nancy sped off.
After a full-scale alert was issued the car was found and Nancy was taken into custody, but Nalani was missing.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette now reports tNancy alleges the father “sold” the toddler for around £8,000 and, on his instructions, she turned the girl over to a woman at the roadside.
She claims she was told to drive 20 minutes from a petrol station where she saw a parked silver sports utility vehicle with out-of-state plates.

It’s reported she claimed she then gave the toddler to a woman standing outside the car.
However, cops wrote in the criminal complaint they found no evidence of a silver SUV in the area at the time.
The child’s grandmother, Taji Walsh, said that if police thought the father was involved he’d be “locked up” by now.
